The management of a company can not possibly not communicate. Because even the total absence of communication with the staff communicates one particular message: “You are not important to us.” It is quite amazing how much money is often put into selecting the right staff members. But subsequently employees are then left alone with their interest in the company and its welfare, their knowledge, their motivation and their problems.

But well organised internal communications may help to make a company more efficient, more responsive to changes and better prepared for times of crises. Employees are a great pool of knowledge, insights and experience. They can help to secure the future of a company and they are top motivated multiplicators in the communications with the public.

Internal communications should therefore not just happen coincidentally just because one thinks “its about time” to do something again.

Internal communications - just like Corporate Communications - needs a solid organisational structure and a good strategy.
